Why is there a Simple Truth and Simple Truth Organic brand?

Our Customers told us that they were interested in buying organic items as well as products that had “cleaner” ingredient statements. Simple Truth™ provides easy-to-read ingredient statements, and Simple Truth Organic™ products are USDA organic certified. This gives all of our Customers a clear choice.

Why are you using the same logo and package design for Simple Truth and Simple Truth Organic?

Our Customers wanted to see the same look and logo design for all Simple Truth and Simple Truth Organic products so that it would be easier to find these items in our stores.

What is the official definition of "organic"?

The following excerpt is from the definition of "organic" that the National Organic Standards Board adopted in April 1995: "Organic agriculture is an ecological production management system that promotes and enhances biodiversity, biological cycles and soil biological activity. It is based on minimal use of off-farm inputs and on management practices that restore, maintain and enhance ecological harmony."

Are Simple Truth Organic products certified by the USDA or any other agency?

The National Organic Program regulates the labeling of all organic crops, livestock and agricultural products produced to United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) organic standards.

Independent agencies accredited by the USDA inspect and verify that organic farmers, ranchers, distributors, processors and traders are complying with USDA organic regulations. There are more than 90 organic certification agencies operating around the world.

All Simple Truth Organic products meet the USDA requirements for the label “organic.”

Where did the “Free From 101” list come from?

We asked our Customers which food ingredients caused them the most concern. Based on their input, we created the “Free From 101” list. While the list does not cover every possible ingredient Customers might not want in their foods, the “Free From 101” designation lets them know that these products will help them make better food choices for their families.

What do I do if a product doesn't taste right?

If you are unsatisfied with a Simple Truth or Simple Truth Organic product, please return it to your local Kroger Co. Family Store for a full refund or exchange.

What do I do if there is a problem with a product (e.g., finding something foreign)?

Retain the foreign object and all parts of the packaging and product. Return the product to your local Kroger Co. Family Store for a full refund or exchange. Notify the Customer Service desk of the issue and provide them with your name and contact information. They will contact us so we can perform a thorough investigation.

If you prefer, contact us here and include the product name, bar code, a brief description of the issue, and a printed date or expiration code. We will be in contact and will follow up with the results of our investigation. We take every complaint seriously and investigate with our manufacturers as standard procedure.

What if I am allergic to something in the natural flavors or spices? 

When any of the regulated allergens (milk, eggs, fish, crustacean shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts, wheat or soy) are included in the natural flavors or spices, they will be labeled according to The Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act.

Can I order Simple Truth products online? 

No; unfortunately, we do not have an online store at this time. However, you can use our Shopping List feature to add items to your grocery list for purchase in-store.
